1exchange and FOMO Pay Join Canton as Network Validators

Singapore-based 1exchange and FOMO Pay have received approval to operate as validators on Canton, a privacy-enabled public blockchain designed to support regulated capital markets and institutional financial activity.

The approvals are expected to strengthen the companiesโ€™ efforts to expand tokenized real-world asset services and institutional payment infrastructure while using blockchain technology that supports confidentiality, regulatory controls, and interoperability.

1exchange plans to use Cantonโ€™s privacy-focused infrastructure to support the future tokenization, listing, and secondary trading of real-world assets while improving the protection of sensitive institutional information.

1exchange, a member of FOMO Group, operates a regulated marketplace for real-world asset security tokens and private listings. The company is licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and holds recognition as a market operator, allowing it to provide infrastructure for the issuance, listing, and secondary trading of regulated digital assets.

The company said its integration with Canton would expand its tokenization capabilities by providing institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure designed to preserve privacy. The technology is expected to help issuers protect commercially sensitive information, including investor identities, ownership records, and transaction details, throughout the lifecycle of tokenized assets.

Canton enables network participants to share transaction information selectively with authorized parties while maintaining connectivity across the broader network. The approach is designed to address the confidentiality, compliance, and information-sharing requirements of regulated financial institutions.

1exchange also intends to incorporate Cantonโ€™s compliance features into its tokenization processes. These capabilities include transfer restrictions and investor eligibility controls, which may help streamline the issuance of regulated digital securities while supporting institutional governance requirements.

Sheena Lim, chief executive officer of 1exchange, indicated that the future development of tokenized markets would depend not only on the range of assets moved onto blockchain networks but also on the quality and reliability of the infrastructure supporting those assets. She said Cantonโ€™s technology was aligned with institutional capital-market requirements and could create additional opportunities for regulated token issuance and trading.

Canton Expands Its Institutional Presence in Asia

Yuval Rooz, chief executive officer of Digital Asset and a co-founder of Canton, said regulated financial institutions were increasingly incorporating tokenized assets into existing operational systems. He indicated that these organizations required the efficiency, liquidity, and interoperability of blockchain-based markets while maintaining confidentiality, governance standards, and regulatory oversight.

The addition of 1exchange is expected to expand Cantonโ€™s presence in Asia and support regional demand for secure, interoperable infrastructure for regulated digital assets.

The validator approval places 1exchange within a growing network of financial institutions and market infrastructure providers working to develop blockchain-based systems for regulated capital markets.

FOMO Pay, another Singapore-based member of the broader financial technology ecosystem, also received validator approval on Canton. The company operates as a regulated payment institution across Singapore, Hong Kong, and markets in the Middle East.

Through its validator role, FOMO Pay will operate a dedicated Canton node and gain access to an institutional gateway for conducting transactions with authorized counterparties. The company plans to explore business-to-business payment and settlement applications while expanding its existing multi-chain payment infrastructure.

Canton processes more than 600,000 transactions daily, reflecting increasing institutional use across payment, settlement, and tokenized asset workflows. Its architecture is intended to allow authorized participants to exchange information and conduct transactions without broadly exposing confidential financial data.

Louis Liu, founder and chief executive officer of FOMO Pay, said the companyโ€™s strategy focused on building payment infrastructure across multiple blockchain networks and financial rails rather than relying on a single platform. He indicated that Canton would support the companyโ€™s broader objective of connecting traditional financial systems with institutional blockchain networks designed for regulated use cases.

FOMO Payโ€™s validator role is expected to support the expansion of its multi-chain, multi-rail, and multi-currency payment network across institutional payment and settlement markets.

The approvals reflect growing interest among regulated Asian financial firms in blockchain systems that combine transaction efficiency with privacy, compliance, and institutional governance. As tokenized assets and blockchain-based settlement continue to develop, the integration of regulated exchanges and payment providers could further expand the use of digital infrastructure across capital markets and cross-border financial services.
