Anchorage Digital has partnered with tokenization platform Securitize to enable the direct minting and redemption of stablecoins issued by Anchorage Digital Bank, strengthening the settlement infrastructure supporting institutional digital assets.
The arrangement allows Securitize to obtain and redeem stablecoins directly through Anchorage Digital Bank, a federally chartered U.S. bank, rather than relying on intermediaries. The bank will also provide custody and settlement services, giving institutional investors a more direct route to access digital dollars for tokenized financial transactions.
The partnership aims to bring the cash component of tokenized securities transactions under custody, counterparty, and settlement standards comparable to those applied to the securities themselves.
The development addresses a key challenge in tokenized finance, where traditional assets such as stocks, bonds, and investment funds are represented on blockchain networks. Although tokenization can improve transaction processing and asset accessibility, institutions also require reliable mechanisms to manage the cash used to purchase and redeem these assets.
Stablecoins Support Tokenized Investment Funds
Securitize provides infrastructure for tokenized investment products associated with major financial institutions, including Apollo, BlackRock, BNY, Hamilton Lane, KKR, and VanEck. The company is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and reported more than $4 billion in assets on its platform.
Anchorage Digital Bank issues stablecoins through several arrangements, including USDtb, developed with Ethena Labs, and USAT, developed with Tether. These products form part of the bank’s broader efforts to provide regulated digital-dollar infrastructure for institutional and digital asset markets.
The relationship also connects two parts of the tokenized finance ecosystem. Securitize supports the issuance and administration of tokenized investment products, while Anchorage Digital Bank provides regulated stablecoin issuance and related financial services.
According to Anchorage Digital Bank’s independently attested reserve report, approximately 99% of USDtb’s $530 million in reserves were held in BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, a tokenized investment product issued through Securitize’s infrastructure. This overlap illustrates the growing connections between stablecoin reserves and tokenized financial assets.
Anchorage Digital Chief Executive Nathan McCauley said the bank was established to issue stablecoins at scale under federal oversight. He viewed regulated issuance as an important requirement for expanding tokenization into institutional financial markets.
Direct Issuance Addresses Cash Settlement Requirements
The partnership comes as tokenized real-world assets continue to expand. Data from rwa.xyz showed that the market increased from approximately $23 billion at the end of 2025 to $31 billion in March 2026.
As more financial institutions explore tokenized securities, the infrastructure supporting cash payments and asset custody becomes increasingly important. Institutions may already have established procedures for safeguarding securities, but they also need comparable protections for the digital dollars used to settle transactions.
Under the new arrangement, stablecoins can be minted and redeemed directly with the issuing bank. The structure also includes holdings in segregated accounts at a national trust bank, providing an additional layer of separation for assets held within the arrangement.
Direct access to bank-issued stablecoins could help institutional investors reduce dependence on intermediaries while improving the transparency and consistency of settlement for tokenized financial products.

The model is intended to make digital-dollar infrastructure more compatible with institutional requirements, including custody arrangements, counterparty oversight, and operational controls.
Tokenized Finance Moves Toward Institutional Standards
Securitize Chairman and Chief Executive Carlos Domingo has emphasized the importance of applying comparable standards to both sides of a financial transaction as traditional assets move onto blockchain networks. The partnership gives Securitize direct access to digital dollars issued under federal oversight and held through the same institution responsible for their issuance.
This approach could help address concerns about the reliability of settlement assets used in tokenized markets. Institutions evaluating blockchain-based investments need confidence not only in the underlying securities but also in the money used to purchase, transfer, and redeem them.
By connecting regulated stablecoin issuance with tokenized investment infrastructure, Anchorage Digital and Securitize are seeking to build a more integrated settlement framework for institutional digital finance.
The partnership’s broader impact will depend on adoption by financial institutions, the liquidity of supported stablecoins, and the continued development of regulatory standards. Nevertheless, the collaboration highlights an industry shift toward combining blockchain-based asset issuance with established banking, custody, and settlement safeguards.
