Apple Co-Founder Steve Jobs’ Sandals in NFT Form Auctioned for $218K

Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc., wore Birkenstock sandals all through his lifetime. The sandals were auctioned for $218,750. As part of the transaction was a Steve Jobs sandals-themed non-fungible token issued on Polygon.

The sale was hosted by Julien’s Auctions from November 11 to 13. There were over 19 bids for the boots, with prices ranging between $15,000 and $175,000.

Notably, the NFT is a limited edition collectible depicting a sandal with “Steve Jobs’s footprints.” The package contains a storage and transit box as well as book titled The 213 Most Important Men in My Life, written by Jean Pigozzi.

Initial estimates placed the value of the shoes and NFT in a range of between $60,000 and $80,000. Nevertheless, following 19 bids, the sandals were auctioned for a staggering $218,750. The buyer of the sandal NFT is yet to be revealed to the public.
