Aptos Blockchain Powers Lotte’s Giftiel Growth to 5M Digital Vouchers

Giftiel

Daehong Communications, an affiliate of South Korea’s Lotte Group, announced a major milestone for its mobile voucher service Giftiel, which has now issued over 5 million vouchers and attracted more than 1.3 million users since integrating the Aptos blockchain in July 2025. The achievement highlights the increasing demand for blockchain-powered solutions that prioritize trust and efficiency in digital services.

The progress reflects the success of the ongoing collaboration between Daehong Communications and the Aptos Foundation, both of which have been working to introduce blockchain technology into everyday consumer applications. The partnership positions blockchain not merely as a niche innovation but as an enabler of practical, real-world use cases.

Vision Outlined at Global Blockchain Forum

At the Global Blockchain Forum – Republic of Korea 2025, hosted at the National Assembly and co-organized by National Assembly Member Min Byung-deok and the Korea Blockchain Industry Promotion Association (KBIPA), Daehong Communications reaffirmed its commitment to blockchain adoption.

During the event, Kang Tae-ho, Head of the Future Growth Division at Daehong Communications, outlined the company’s broader vision for the role of blockchain within its services. He emphasized the importance of integrating blockchain into mainstream consumer experiences and pointed to the Aptos partnership as a central part of that strategy. Kang presented Giftiel’s success as an early indicator of how blockchain can create tangible benefits for users by strengthening trust and improving service delivery.

Expanding Blockchain Across Lotte’s Ecosystem

Looking ahead, Daehong Communications and the Aptos Foundation intend to expand their collaboration beyond Giftiel, exploring how blockchain can be embedded across Lotte’s diverse business operations. Plans include leveraging Aptos’ secure and scalable infrastructure for applications such as loyalty programs, digital payments, and cross-border value transfers.

The companies have signaled that their shared objective is to accelerate mainstream adoption of blockchain by integrating it into services that consumers use daily. By focusing on areas like digital vouchers and payment systems, they aim to highlight blockchain’s potential to enhance efficiency, reduce friction, and deliver real-world value.

Toward Mainstream Adoption

The Giftiel milestone underscores a wider shift in how businesses approach blockchain integration. Rather than treating the technology solely as a speculative asset platform, Daehong Communications and Aptos are demonstrating how it can support practical solutions for millions of consumers.

With its rapid uptake since July, Giftiel’s blockchain-powered growth provides a case study in how trusted infrastructure can drive adoption at scale. Observers note that as more companies explore similar models, blockchain may become an invisible but essential layer of digital services, shaping loyalty systems, payments, and global commerce.

Daehong Communications’ partnership with Aptos reflects a broader trend in South Korea and beyond, where enterprises are increasingly seeking to merge innovation with consumer convenience. By embedding blockchain into Lotte’s business ecosystem, the two organizations are positioning themselves at the forefront of the shift toward mass adoption.
