Bitfinex Securities Lists Tokenized Notes Tied to Bitcoin Stocks

bitfinex

Bitfinex Securities has listed five tokenized notes linked to publicly traded companies and securities associated with Bitcoin investment, giving eligible non-US investors additional ways to gain exposure to the digital asset sector through blockchain-based financial instruments.

The newly listed products track shares or securities connected to Strategy, Strategy’s STRC preferred stock, Metaplanet, H100 Group and Capital B. According to the report, the tokenized notes are available for trading against U.S. dollars, Tether’s USDT stablecoin, and Bitcoin, providing investors with several settlement and trading options.

The development adds to the growing use of blockchain technology to represent traditional financial assets in digital form. Tokenization allows financial instruments to be issued and traded using blockchain infrastructure, potentially enabling more streamlined settlement and broader access to investment products.

Bitcoin-linked companies become accessible through tokenized notes

Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, has become one of the most prominent corporate holders of Bitcoin and has built its investment strategy around accumulating the cryptocurrency. Its STRC security provides another form of exposure to the company’s capital structure.

Metaplanet, a Japanese investment company, has also pursued an aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy, making its shares increasingly relevant to investors seeking publicly traded exposure to Bitcoin. H100 Group and Capital B have similarly attracted attention for their involvement in Bitcoin-focused corporate strategies.

By introducing tokenized notes tied to these securities, Bitfinex Securities is creating blockchain-based instruments that can provide eligible investors with exposure to the performance of the underlying assets without necessarily acquiring the conventional securities directly.

The listing represents an expansion of tokenized securities trading, combining exposure to Bitcoin-focused equities with blockchain-based settlement and trading infrastructure for eligible non-U.S. investors.

The products can be traded against USD, USDT, and Bitcoin, according to the report. The availability of multiple trading pairs could give investors greater flexibility in managing positions and entering or exiting the tokenized instruments.

Tokenization could reshape securities markets

The listing also highlights the broader development of tokenized financial markets. Traditional securities have historically depended on centralized exchanges, brokers, clearing systems, and settlement networks. Blockchain-based tokenization seeks to digitize parts of that infrastructure and potentially make financial assets more accessible and transferable.

For investors, tokenized securities can provide a familiar economic exposure through a digital asset format. For market operators and financial institutions, the technology may offer opportunities to automate certain processes and reduce friction associated with conventional securities settlement.

For developers and financial institutions, tokenized notes demonstrate how blockchain networks can be used to connect traditional equity exposure with digital-asset markets, potentially creating new trading and settlement models.

However, access remains subject to eligibility requirements and applicable restrictions. The newly listed instruments are intended for non-U.S. investors who meet the relevant criteria, meaning the products do not represent unrestricted access to the underlying securities for all market participants.

The development comes as financial firms increasingly explore tokenization as a way to bring stocks, bonds, funds and other conventional assets onto blockchain networks. Interest in the sector has grown as institutions assess whether blockchain technology can improve settlement efficiency while expanding the range of assets available through digital financial infrastructure.

With five additional Bitcoin-related instruments now listed, Bitfinex Securities is extending its tokenized securities offering while strengthening the connection between traditional capital markets and the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem. The move could further increase the range of blockchain-based investment vehicles available to qualified international investors as tokenized securities markets continue to develop.
