Avalanche has been broadening its efforts in India, engaging with government agencies on welfare initiatives and launching a mini-grants program to support developers at different stages of their projects. Concurrently, Bitget has pledged $10 million over five years through its Blockchain4Youth initiative, offering scholarships, workshops, and hackathons to promote blockchain education both in India and globally. The partnership’s first public initiative materialized through the ‘HODL ON’ tour, which held its initial meetup events in Delhi and Bangalore. These gatherings were organized with the mutual goal of enhancing education and awareness about blockchain and cryptocurrencies in key Indian regions.
Devika Mittal, Regional Head at Ava Labs, conveyed that India possesses a dynamic and resilient Web3 community. She noted that the goal of such events is to offer spaces where Web3 enthusiasts, regardless of their location within the country, can connect and collaborate. She further mentioned that 2025 would see a substantial number of Layer 1 blockchains launching on Avalanche, with strong participation expected from developers across diverse domains.
Adding her perspective, Jyotsna Hridyani, South Asia Head at Bitget, highlighted that empowering users with accurate knowledge is crucial for unlocking the full potential of blockchain technology in India’s digital landscape.
