Bitget and Avalanche Unite to Boost Web3 Adoption in India

India

Bitget, a leading global crypto exchange and Web3 company, has announced a strategic partnership with Avalanche, recognized as one of the fastest and most dependable smart contract platforms worldwide. This collaboration aims to harness the strengths of both entities to drive grassroots-level adoption of Web3 technologies, particularly targeting emerging markets.

Avalanche has been broadening its efforts in India, engaging with government agencies on welfare initiatives and launching a mini-grants program to support developers at different stages of their projects. Concurrently, Bitget has pledged $10 million over five years through its Blockchain4Youth initiative, offering scholarships, workshops, and hackathons to promote blockchain education both in India and globally. Additionally, Bitget’s Blockchain4Her initiative seeks to empower women-led Web3 ventures, reflecting a broader commitment to inclusivity within the tech sector.

The partnership’s first public initiative materialized through the ‘HODL ON’ tour, which held its initial meetup events in Delhi and Bangalore. These gatherings were organized with the mutual goal of enhancing education and awareness about blockchain and cryptocurrencies in key Indian regions.

Devika Mittal, Regional Head at Ava Labs, conveyed that India possesses a dynamic and resilient Web3 community. She noted that the goal of such events is to offer spaces where Web3 enthusiasts, regardless of their location within the country, can connect and collaborate. She further mentioned that 2025 would see a substantial number of Layer 1 blockchains launching on Avalanche, with strong participation expected from developers across diverse domains.

Adding her perspective, Jyotsna Hridyani, South Asia Head at Bitget, highlighted that empowering users with accurate knowledge is crucial for unlocking the full potential of blockchain technology in India’s digital landscape. She affirmed that Bitget remains committed to addressing the educational gap through community engagement programs, university collaborations, and accessible learning resources.

Expanding Outreach and Nurturing Future Builders

The overarching aim of this partnership is to extend the impact of educational efforts across more Indian cities through additional events and workshops. Both Bitget and Avalanche have expressed their commitment to continuing joint initiatives and investments throughout 2025 to foster blockchain literacy and innovation.

India’s rapidly growing crypto landscape has captured global attention. As the leading nation in terms of crypto adoption and the second-largest hub for Web3 developers, India presents significant opportunities for technological advancement. Industry observers believe that with the right support — in the form of grants, mentorship, and global exposure — India’s vast pool of tech talent can deliver world-class Web3 solutions.

India currently hosts over 1,000 Web3 startups, and Bitget has set an ambitious goal to double this figure by the end of 2025 by offering targeted funding and mentorship programs. The ‘HODL ON’ tour provides a valuable platform for these startups to present their innovations and attract the necessary funding to scale their ideas.

Akshay Aggarwal, Co-founder and leading contributor at Blockchained India, reflected on the recent events in Delhi and Bangalore by emphasizing that India’s scale and digital prowess offer a unique opportunity to shape the value proposition of Web3 applications for consumers and enterprises alike. He remarked that consistent action, rather than mere visibility, earns relevance in the Web3 space and suggested that this period marks a critical turning point for those committed to long-term industry development.
