Blockchain Provider NChain to Aid Bataan Province of Philippines to Enhance Government Services

The state government of Bataan in the Philippines has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) with blockchain firm NChain to build a “foundation for the construction of a digital service for the region” in an effort to enhance public services. As per a press statement from the firm, the partnership intends to digitize the provincial government’s activities, therefore increasing transparency and effectiveness.

In the next months, the rollout of the platform is anticipated, with the provincial governor stating that the “strategic collaboration will lead to greater efficiency within the state’s activities and open the door to several new opportunities in the future.”

NChain’s headquarters are in Switzerland, but the company delivers services all over the globe based on the provision of unalterable data solutions.

Regarding the MOU, the governor of Bataan, Joet Garcia, said, “We are thrilled to be at the frontline of the use of blockchain technology in public services. This relationship with NChain will substantially benefit our residents by offering them quick and safe access to government services and safeguarding the confidentiality of these operations.”

NChain AG Chairman Stefan Matthews said, “We are excited to start propelling the state ahead by offering professional advise and blockchain-powered solutions for the digitalization of the state’s services, goods, and procedures, utilising our rich portfolio of intellectual property rights. With BSV blockchain fueled by NChain, Bataan may anticipate an effective, safe, and fair system for digitising state departments and agencies, while improving facilities and goods for its citizens.”
