Brave Browser Records 1,200% Growth of Registered Publishers In One Year

Decrypt, cryptocurrency sector centered news outlet, has stated that the number of publishers using blockchain-powered decentralized browser Brave has gone up by 1,200% in the past one year.

BATGrowth, a website offering statistics related to Brave browser adoption, indicates that the number of Brave Rewards publishers has increased to 230,859 (at the time of writing this article), from 18,931 in July 2018.

Specifically, 166,904 YouTube publishers, 29,320 website publishers, 12,554 Twitch publishers, 17,548 twitter publishers, 2,941 Reddit publishers, 456 vimeo publishers and 1,136 GitHub publishers use the Brave browser’s reward program.

Earlier this month, Brave unveiled a facility for rewarding content creators on Twitter with its native Basic Attention Tokens (BAT). Several features linked to the tipping service were also announced. That includes configuring the browser for recurring reward payment and also a system for tweeting to a creator who was tipped, informing the process to claim the reward.

In July, there were news reports that customers of the latest nightly (in-development) version of Brave are able to withdraw their BAT tokens after getting their identity verified with crypto banking firm UpHold. Following verification, users will be able to purchase additional BAT tokens, in case they want to contribute to creation of content and maintenance of website.

At the time of writing this article, BAT was trading at $0.2027, down 0.8% in the past 24 hours.
