Cardano Developer IOHK to Become Member of Hyperledger & W3C

IOHK, the firm behind the creation of Cardano (ADA) blockchain, is joining W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and Hyperledger Project.

Charles Hoskison, Cardano founder and CEO and co-founder of IOHK, affirmed that the company will become a member of the aforementioned organizations.

Hoskinson trusts that IOHK will gain from the knowledge shared with them. He also believes that the collaboration will offer an advantage in bidding process.

“We would like to start consolidating some of our enterprise ledger ideas and bring it there, “A”, because there’s just a lot of knowledge in that circle. And “B”, it helps us with the bidding process. When we’re deploying a permissioned system, government procurement and corporate procurements, a little bit more familiar with Hyperledger.”

Hyperledger, founded by Linux Foundation, is a central organization for several enterprise centered blockchain covenants.

The W3C is a global community that is primarily involved in the creation of Web standards.

By the end of 2020, IOHK’s deal with the Cardano Foundation is expiring. The company is expected to submit its interest to the community for renewal of the agreement.

The renewal proposal is expected to contain a detailed roadmap for establishing an enterprise variant of Cardano.

“One of the things that we will explore is how do we create an enterprise version of Cardano? And we’ll make a proposal for that at the end of the year when we’re proposing to the community IOHK contract renewal for the next five years for Cardano. And there’s going to be certainly an enterprise component to that renewal. And we’d love to pursue that strategy through the hydrologic group at the Linux Foundation.”

Hoskinson also stressed that Cardano’s fundamental structure permits toggling between a permissioned and permissonless mode.

“The way that we design Catano, we made it very easy to switch between a permissionless and a permissioned mode.”

Of late, blockchain sector is witnessing a number of blockchain alliances and associations headed by Celo and Libra.
