Classy Facilitates Crypto Donation by Launching Three Crypto Giving Funds

Classy, a platform that links supporters to organizations they care about, has collaborated with Coinbase Commerce and The San Diego Foundation to develop three Crypto Giving Funds, which make it simpler for bitcoin users to give to NGOs. Donors interested in making tax-deductible cryptocurrency gifts may select from a range of funds benefiting NGOs in the food aid, health, and community support categories.

Classy is a B Corp Certified Public Benefit Corporation and donating platform that links donors to NGOs. Classy’s platform, based in San Diego, CA, and trusted by thousands of nonprofits ranging from the fastest-growing to the biggest social organizations in the world, offers the formats and versatility necessary to engage donors when and how they need to by establishing extra relevant connections to their causes.

Since 2011, Classy has aided charitable organizations in mobilizing and empowering the globe for good by facilitating the fundraising of more than $3 billion via their platform. The bitcoin market is currently worth more than $3 trillion, yet only a few hundred NGOs accept cryptocurrencies as a form of payment.

While Classy continues to broaden the manner in which organizations may use new technology to better their financing, its Crypto Giving Funds will provide a simple entry point for NGOs into the cryptocurrency market before Classy introduces its own in-house product next year.

Classy’s CEO, Chris Himes, expressed his opinion “Nonprofits must cultivate ties within the cryptocurrency community, which is brimming with young philanthropists seeking to make an impact. Cryptocurrency is the first kind of money to function exclusively online, and it should play a larger role in financing social and environmental improvements. The tax benefits of giving an appreciated asset may be enormous, which is why Classy places a premium on linking the cryptocurrency ecosystem with the charity sector.”

Donors may designate their gift to one of three funds operated by The San Diego Foundation that assist a diverse array of meaningful organizations:
• Food Relief: Benefits World Central Kitchen, Feeding San Diego, Greater Boston Food Bank, Greater Chicago Food Depository, and Oregon Food Bank.
• Hospitals and Health: Benefits CDC Foundation, City of Hope, Cleveland Clinic, HFC, and Shriners Hospitals for Children.
• Community Support: Benefits Pencils of Promise, Team Rubicon, The Salvation Army, and Museum of Science.
