Coinbase Wallet Begins Supporting Ethereum Classic

coinbaseCoinbase reported Monday that it is offering support to Ethereum Classic (ETC) on its Coinbase Wallet. With this addition, the wallet supports Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC) and more than 100,000 ERC20 tokens created on the Ethereum blockchain.

According to Siddharth Coelho-Prabhu from Coinbase, the Wallet app will be upgraded within the next few days. Following the upgrade, clients will be able to see their ETC balances or send and receive ETC from their wallet.

He wrote:
“As part of our mission to be the easiest and most trusted crypto wallet, we plan to add support for even more blockchains in the future.”

The ETC address of existing clients of Coinbase Wallet is the same as their current Ethereum (ETH) address. In this manner, in the event that you have previously gotten an ETC on your Coinbase ETH addresses, it’ll be shown after the upgrade.

The Coinbase wallet has as of late seen a facelift. Clients can presently check their coin portfolio balances in their local currency with the assistance of the revised interface.

The clients’ ERC20 token holdings are also included in the wallet automatically, eliminating the issues of manually adding each token. The wallet has also worked with RareBits and OpenSea to form a new gallery for its clients to see their collectibles within the wallet itself. The app moreover includes a few new improvements beneath the hood that would further improve the wallet’s stability.

Ethereum Classic was listed in Coinbase in August this year after a lot of speculation and waiting. It first showed up on the Coinbase Pro, the individual client trading platform. Note that the platform of Coinbase is partitioned into two, making Coinbase Pro for individual or retail clients and Coinbase Prime for their institutional clients.

The currency could not keep up its momentum in the Bearish crypto markets with its price decreasing consistently since the posting. The coin is as of now exchanging at $4.26 with a market cap of $452.86 million.
