Daehong Communications, the marketing arm of South Korea’s Lotte Group, has officially launched a blockchain-based “money movement” ecosystem, leveraging the high-performance infrastructure of Aptos blockchain. This initiative marks a significant step in applying Web3 technology to traditional retail environments, starting with the integration of Daehong’s widely used mobile voucher platform, Giftiel.
The first phase of this rollout involves shifting the entire Giftiel voucher system onto the Aptos Layer 1 blockchain. With over 500,000 users and more than a million vouchers already issued, this integration aims to deliver enhanced transparency, security, and traceability for all transactions within the Giftiel ecosystem. By recording every stage of the voucher lifecycle—from issuance to redemption—on-chain, the platform offers verifiable real-time insights into voucher usage and ownership.
Built on Aptos’ scalable blockchain, known for its high throughput and low latency, this system allows Daehong Communications to track digital assets with greater precision. The company expects that enterprises will gain deeper operational insights from the on-chain data, while consumers will benefit from securely verifiable ownership of their digital vouchers. The blockchain framework supports a broader vision, where loyalty points, mileage, and potentially stablecoins can be created, transferred, and managed transparently within a unified ecosystem.
The initiative is designed not just for improving voucher systems but also for shaping a more dynamic digital asset environment. By placing all transaction histories on the blockchain, the system ensures reliable and transparent management, enhancing customer engagement and giving users more control over their digital assets. This comprehensive approach is intended to provide lasting value that goes beyond short-term promotional benefits.
Kang Tae-ho, who leads Daehong Communications’ Future Growth Division, indicated that this shift would empower users with clearer visibility and control over their digital entitlements. The broader roadmap envisions greater adoption of Web3 technologies as regulatory frameworks for digital assets and stablecoins evolve.
The soft launch of the blockchain-based Giftiel service has already demonstrated practical benefits. With more than half a million users actively engaging with the new system, the initiative illustrates how blockchain can be adopted by mainstream users without requiring deep technical expertise. The integration was supported by Aptos Labs, whose infrastructure has been highlighted as a key enabler for large-scale enterprise innovation.

Solomon Tesfaye, Chief Business Officer at Aptos Labs, pointed out that the success of the project reflects the commercial potential of blockchain, especially for businesses seeking scalable and efficient solutions. He suggested that this collaboration could serve as a model for companies around the world aiming to apply blockchain in sectors such as digital commerce, loyalty programs, and customer rewards.
Looking ahead, Daehong Communications plans to expand its partnership with Aptos Labs to include additional technical support and marketing initiatives. These efforts are expected to accelerate blockchain adoption in real-world commercial applications. Future expansions could potentially include tokenized assets and stablecoin-based transactions as part of the platform’s evolving functionality.
In an effort to promote transparency and accessibility, Daehong has also made real-time blockchain data available through the Aptos Explorer, developed by Web3 service provider Xangle. This tool allows both businesses and consumers to monitor voucher transactions, user statistics, and detailed token histories, offering a valuable resource for data-driven decision-making.
Through its pioneering use of Aptos technology, Daehong Communications is setting a new precedent in retail blockchain integration, demonstrating how Web3 infrastructure can bring meaningful value to established consumer ecosystems.
