Domino Printech India and Block Synergy launch TagITX to combat counterfeiting with on-product traceability

Domino Printech India partners with Block Synergy Technology Limited

In a major step to curb the growing problem of counterfeit goods in India, Domino Printech India, a recognized name in industrial coding and marking, has collaborated with Block Synergy Technology Limited, the parent company of Jumbo Blockchain, to introduce TagITX—a blockchain-based traceability solution aimed at Indian manufacturers. This platform is designed to seamlessly integrate with Domino’s industrial printers, enabling the real-time generation of secure, tamper-evident, and uniquely trackable QR codes on products and packaging.

These QR codes are backed by Jumbo Blockchain’s ultra-scalable Proof of Nexus (PoN) protocol, which creates a secure and transparent product journey from production to end-user. Through this solution, manufacturers across various industries can enable instant product verification and enhance consumer confidence in product authenticity.

Executives at Block Synergy have emphasized that TagITX distinguishes itself by offering real-time serialization, seamless hardware compatibility, and cost efficiency. They indicated that this solution, developed domestically, is capable of helping both small businesses and multinational corporations meet global traceability standards while also strengthening brand trust among consumers.

Addressing a Multi-Billion Dollar Counterfeit Challenge

India reportedly loses more than INR 2.62 lakh crore, or about $22 billion, annually due to counterfeit goods across major sectors such as fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), electronics, packaged food, pharmaceuticals, and alcoholic beverages. A study by FICCI CASCADE, based on FY 2019–20 data, shed light on the widespread impact of this issue.

The new solution is expected to be particularly relevant in industries facing acute counterfeiting threats. In the pharmaceutical sector, for instance, up to 20% of medicines are estimated to be fake or substandard. The agrochemical industry also suffers from counterfeit pesticides and fertilizers that affect crop yields and endanger farmers. Medical devices, including implants and diagnostic kits, are often targeted by counterfeiters, creating direct risks to human lives. Similar threats persist in food, beverage, and automotive sectors, where fake components have even led to fatal accidents.

Secure and Scalable Traceability from Source

TagITX addresses these problems with a robust track-and-trace infrastructure. Each manufactured unit is tagged with a unique QR code at the time of production. These codes are cryptographically registered on Jumbo Blockchain, ensuring that any tampering is detectable and allowing for immediate origin verification. Consumers, distributors, and regulators alike can verify product authenticity with a simple scan.

The solution integrates natively with Domino India’s existing printers and verification systems, enabling real-time serialization even on high-speed production lines. It has been built for versatility, working across pharmaceuticals, electronics, agrochemicals, medical devices, food packaging, and automotive parts.

Designed for India, Ready for the World

TagITX is engineered to support global compliance standards including DSCSA (U.S.), FMD (EU), and GS1, making it particularly relevant for Indian MSMEs aiming to meet international export requirements. The solution also aligns with national programs such as ‘Make in India’ and the government’s Digital Product Passport initiative.

Jumbo Blockchain’s PoN architecture brings additional advantages in terms of sustainability and efficiency. It consumes less energy while maintaining sub-second block times and low transaction costs, thus making TagITX economically viable for businesses across all regions—urban and rural.

With APIs built for ERP systems, customs, and e-commerce platforms, TagITX is being positioned as a national traceability infrastructure. Domino India’s wide customer base of over 25,000 clients is expected to accelerate the adoption of this technology across industries.

Catalyzing Economic and Regulatory Transformation

This partnership is expected to save over INR 1,000 crore annually by minimizing revenue loss in critical sectors. Furthermore, it helps Indian manufacturers comply with domestic and international traceability mandates, opening up new export opportunities.

TagITX represents a strategic blend of technology, policy alignment, and economic impact. By delivering digital trust at the source, it aims to reimagine product authenticity, protect consumer welfare, and position India as a global leader in traceability solutions.
