Eos Developer Block.one Unveils Blockchain-Powered Social Media Platform Voice

Block.one, the parent company of EOS (EOS), has unveiled Voice, a blockchain-based social media platform. Block.one stated that the platform will utilize the EOS blockchain to ensure transparency in operation, without any other algorithms running at the background or mechanisms that push unwanted content without the knowledge of user.

Brendan Blumer, CEO of Block.one assessed Voice with conventional social media platforms, saying:

“The truth is, current social media platforms are designed to use their users. Just look at the business model. Our content. Our data. Our attention. These are all incredibly valuable things. But right now, it’s the platform, not the user, that reaps the reward.”

According to the report, Block.one recently signed up for the Coinbase Earn program, an educational offering by Coinbase, which is arguably the number one crypto platform in the US.

The program allows users to choose courses on a specific crypto in swap for a small fee in the same coin that is being studied.

EOS recently joined hands with Tether and deployed USDT, Tether’s USD-pegged stable coin, on the EOS blockchain. The delegated PoS (Proof-of-Stake) structure of Tether EOS supposedly makes it a good combination for P2P (peer-to-peer) microtransactions.

As per a recent study conducted by Diar, social media platform provider Facebook’s stablecoin, named Globalcoin, will face demographic threats as the platform’s client base is growing older.
