The Concordium Foundation, the domineering firm behind the Concordium Network that established a concept proof in January, intends to solve with Rasmussen’s expertise the rollout of blockchain in some sectors.
Rasmussen Global, a consulting company heavily involved in various fields such as democracy, transatlantic affairs and security policy, is presently headed by the former politician.
Commenting on the appointment, Concordium’s chairman, Lars Seier Christensen, said “Given the enormous scope and far-reaching potential of the Concordium Network, it is essential for the Concordium Foundation to harness the knowledge of those with invaluable in-depth strategic expertise.”
Christensen added:
“Anders will play a pivotal role in our global expansion plans to move into areas that require a blockchain solution for secure and private communications, as well as liaising with governmental departments that will benefit from its implementation.”
While Rasmussen’s partnership will concentrate in specific on voting identity, Concordium aims to place itself as a typical blockchain operator, enabling transaction data – storage. Rasmussen also seemed to be optimistic about the capability of the technology when debating his appointment.
“We are only beginning to see the benefits that blockchain technology will bring to our societies, including in our democratic processes.”
Voting alone had seen two significant blockchain tests in March – Denver’s municipal elections and internal elections within a Russian political party – both harnessing technology in their proceedings.
