Hired: Vacancies for Blockchain Engineers Up 517% Year-on-Year

The demand for blockchain engineers has soared by 517% y-o-y as per a report published today by recruitment firm Hired. With a 132% y-o-y increase in demand, the openings for security engineer take the second place.

According to the document, embedded engineers see the third maximum number of vacancies with a 76% y-o-y increase in demand.

Notably, the vacancies for blockchain engineer consistently stood among the top three highest paid software engineering jobs in several cities surveyed by the recruitment company.

In particular, blockchain engineering is the second highest paid software related profession in New York and London. San Francisco Bay area and Toronto takes the third place. Paris takes up the final spot in the list. On average, blockchain engineers receive $105,400 in the cities mentioned above.

In San Francisco Bay area, blockchain engineers receive average salaries of $155,000. However, blockchain engineers in Paris receive an annual package of $67,000. The average earnings of a blockchain engineer have increased between $150,000 and $175,000 per year.

A survey conducted by Glassdoor, a recruiting site, found that crypto and blockchain-related job opportunities increased considerably in the US in 2018, even though the cryptocurrency market is undergoing a big correction.
