Furthermore, the IOTA Foundation stated that Chronicle permits node owners to save all the info of Tangle and quickly retrieve the info when required, without any restrictions on time period.
Before the launch of Chronicle, those who owned nodes of the IoT-based crypto venture confronted problems that were straightaway linked to finite storage that caused saturation of database with transaction data.
IOTA took measures to solve the issue by introducing in chain snapshots permitting node owners to terminate old transactions and maintain small database.
However, the solution was not completely successive as it was not relevant for data that demanded long-term storage. In the months ahead, the IOTA Foundation aims to improve the functionality and abilities of Chronicle.
In this regard, the foundation has also extended its warm welcome to community. The foundation also stated that they aim to offer grants in building and expanding the concept of permanodes.
In August the distributed ledger technology (DLT) firm IOTA has collaborated with auto manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover for a PoC (Proof-of-Concept) illustration for tracking car energy with DLT. Russell Vickers, the auto manufacturer’s manager, opined his thoughts on the energy-apperceptive smart cities.
