On Wednesday, Krafton Labs, the makers of the blockbuster Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) game, revealed the signing of a commercial deal with Solana Labs to develop and offer blockchain-powered gaming. For the uninformed, Solana is a decentralized blockchain that outperforms Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other blockchains.

As per a survey by the Solana Foundation, a single transaction on the Solana blockchain network uses energy lower than two searches made on Google platform and 24 times lower energy utilized to charge a smartphone. Solana is a decentralized computing platform that uses a blockchain ledger to function. It was developed by Anatoly Yakovenko. The startup promises to be the world’s quickest blockchain, claiming to be able to validate 65,000 transactions per second for less than a cent a trade.

Hyungchul Park, Lead of Web 3.0 Roundtable at KRAFTON, Inc, opined “As we seek to develop our Web 3.0 network, Krafton will continue to look for opportunities to collaborate effectively with blockchain firms like Solana Labs. Solana leverages the finest of the Web 3.0 network and its technology is among the leading high-performance blockchains with advantages such as low fees and high speed processing ability. KRAFTON will get the knowledge it needs to expedite its investment in and production of blockchain-powered experiences as a result of this cooperation.”

Krafton and Solana Labs are set to form a long-term partnership for the creation and management of blockchain and NFT-powered games and applications, according to a press statement. The two businesses will work together on marketing and design for blockchain games and other blockchain technologies, and also collaborative investment potential.

Johnny Lee, Head of Games Business Development at Solana Labs said, “Gamers are paying increasing attention towards on-chain games, and gaming firms who react fast to this requirement will be well positioned for long-term success.”

Depending on its game creation capacity and operating expertise garnered from BGMI, the firm stated this month that it would enter the web 3.0 and NFT sectors. From then on, Seoul Auction Blue, XX Blue, and NAVER Z have announced funding and cooperation with the firm in additional industries connected to NFT, metaverse, and blockchain (Zepeto).
