KUKE and Naxos Launch AI-Blockchain Platform for Classical Music

kuke partners with naxos

KUKE Music, a prominent provider of classical music licensing and streaming services, has entered into a strategic partnership with the independent classical music label Naxos Music Group to explore the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and Real World Assets (RWA) in the classical music sector. Naxos, with a catalog exceeding three million tracks and operations spanning over 100 countries, brings significant global reach and content depth to the collaboration.

The alliance is centered on the launch of a new platform, the “Music LEGO Engine,” which aims to transform how classical music is created, licensed, and monetized. The initiative seeks to modularize music copyrights by breaking down elements such as melody, harmony, orchestration, and style into standardized, licensable units. These modular components, likened to LEGO building blocks, are intended to serve as the foundation for AI-driven music creation, analytical tools, and blockchain-enabled copyright management.

The concept is designed to support a variety of applications, including AI training on modular classical content, streamlined rights management through blockchain technology, and the global monetization of music assets via NFT trading and RWA tokenization. By enabling music to be broken into smaller, standardized parts, the platform is expected to open up new creative possibilities while making licensing and distribution more efficient.

The “Music LEGO Engine” will operate on the Naxos Music Platform (NMP), a blockchain network dedicated to managing the licensing, valuation, and fractional investment of modular music assets. This infrastructure is aimed at providing a sustainable ecosystem for both content creators and rights holders. Through this system, musicians, producers, and institutions will have access to secure, transparent mechanisms for monetizing their work on a global scale.

Beyond rights management, the initiative will also deliver AI-powered composition tools tailored to companies and independent musicians. Additionally, it plans to offer fan-driven NFT experiences and establish an open platform for creators to develop, share, and monetize their music assets. Such tools are expected to foster greater participation from a diverse range of contributors, enhancing innovation in the classical music domain.

Long-term objectives for the project include expanding into AI-assisted orchestration, enabling copyright token staking and lending, and advancing modular asset monetization under a compliant RWA framework. These developments are expected to provide new investment opportunities in music while supporting a more decentralized and transparent rights economy.

According to the partnership announcement, Naxos will contribute its extensive content resources and global service infrastructure to help KUKE Music explore the integration of AI, blockchain, and RWA technologies within classical music. Both organizations emphasized that the collaboration is intended to reshape the processes of music creation, rights verification, application, and value circulation in ways that could significantly modernize the industry.

If successful, the initiative could redefine how classical music is produced and consumed, offering a new model where creativity, technology, and financial innovation converge. Industry analysts suggest that the “Music LEGO Engine” may set a precedent for other genres, potentially expanding the modular music model beyond classical compositions into broader areas of the music industry.
