Amid the recent technology innovation, the renowned brand is using blockchain to digitize its collectible stamps.
Lamborghini is introducing digital stamps named the “Automobili Lamborghini Collection.” Blockchain technology underpins the latest collection, which includes an array of collectible digital stamps devoted to the background of the most emblematic premium brand cars across the globe.
Huracán EVO RWD Spyder, a model launched this month, has been given importance with the introduction of first stamp, under the Automobili Lamborghini Collection, in its name.
Notably, the company has commenced production on May 4, after it briefly suspended activities due to coronavirus disease outbreak.
For delivering new collectible digital stamps, Lamborghini collaborated with a domestic blockchain collectible firm known as Bitstamps.
The initial Huracán EVO RWD Spyder stamp is already available for purchase through the use of Bitstamps.app (iOS). Only 20,000 units of the stamp will be ever issued.
Through the use of blockchain technology, the namesake car brand aims to guarantee history and distinctiveness in each stamp, which signifies a “single” digital product, Lamborghini stated.
The Bitstamps-powered digital Lamborghini stamp can be resold after purchase, the automaker pointed out, saying:
“The stamp can be purchased, collected, or resold exactly like a paper stamp. The collection works exactly the same way: you can admire it, check its progress, give stamps as a gift or resell them.”
As per Bitstamps.app, Huracán EVO RWD Spyder stamp costs €9.90. The platform does not clearly stipulate the mode of payments accepted for stamps.
This is not the first time blockchain technology has been used to implement digitization of artworks and sport linked items, in addition to collectible digital stamps.
Last June, the Austrian Post rolled out a series of blockchain based collectible stamps.
Obviously, digital stamps introduced by the Austrian Post turned out to be the first stamps across the globe to be validated by blockchain technology.
Blockchain based digital stamp is not the first use case of blockchain technology for Lamborghini. In 2019, Lamborghini employed blockchain platform of Salesforce to validate Lamborghini brand heritage cars.
The community also points out the Lamborghini brand used in the popular community focused statement, “when Lambo?” The phrase, along with “When Moon,” has become popular among crypto community to indicate gains made by investing in cryptos such as Bitcoin (BTC).
