Twitch users can now utilize their MenaPay mobile app to tip their preferred Twitch players while viewing their streaming content with MenaCash, a greenback pegged stablecoin developed by the same team.
The initiative happens weeks after MenaPay started allowing streamers utilize MenaPay app to receive donations through a blockchain based platform.
According to the document, the digital gaming sector expanded into a huge online domain where over 3.7 million streamers exchange their experience with their viewers on Twitch.
Audience have the choice of supporting their preferred streaming content providers by either rewarding while watching real-time content, or sign up as a paid subscriber. MenaPay also facilitates almost real-time payment to Twitch streamers through QR code.
MenaPay CEO Cagla Gul Senkardes explained how the firm offers benefits to gaming community through blockchain technology.
“Introducing MenaPay to Twitch streamers as a way to collect donations was a critical milestone in strengthening the bridge between the gaming community and blockchain technology.”
She further stated:
“Following the announcement, we saw incredible demand from Twitch’s viewer base, which also wants to use a simple means of donating. We made the necessary advancements and updated our app to support the gaming community further. Now, viewers can also integrate their MenaPay app with Twitch and make their donations from their smartphones in seconds.”
Twitch platform had been toggling crypto facility in the past. The game streaming company suspended support for Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) in March and then re-enabled in June. The blockchain powered internet browser Brave also aids tipping on Twitch, in addition to Twitter and YouTube.
DLive is another blockchain venture that intends to back the gaming fraternity in a decentralized manner. Rewards and marketing firm Refereum has collaborated with decentralized streaming platform DLive to award gamers for developing and viewing content. According to the media news, players can obtain rewards by interacting with live streams.
The gaming sector is not the only domain which accepts crypto donations. Agatha Bacelar, a candidate planning to enter the US election fray and hope to become a member of the US House of Representatives in 2020, has also expressed willingness to accept crypto donations.
