Mobile Client Of MetaMask Launched At Ethereum Devcon Conference

According to a tweet from Joseph Lubin, the CEO of ConsenSys, at the Ethereum’s annual Devcon conference, the mobile app version of MetaMask, which is presently the most-downloaded Ethereum Chrome browser extension, was launched.

ConsenSys, the New York-based Ethereum blockchain technology firm, has been working on MetaMask for the past two years according to Lubin.

MetaMask extension is presently available for Chrome, Brave and Firefox browsers. It has already crossed one million downloads in Google’s Chrome Web Store. The extension facilitates users to access Ethereum decentralized applications (DApps) in their browser.

The extension also acts as a web-based non-custodial wallet for Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens.

Lubin’s tweeted is as follows:

Additionally at Devcon4, Fabian Vogelsteller, the Ethereum programmer who jointly wrote the ERC-20 token standard, presented a new idea for Initial Coin Offerings (ICO), named ‘reversible ICO,’ that claims to offer improved protection to investors. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, in the meanwhile, presented a keynote lecture at the event, introducing the roadmap for Ethereum 2.0, also called as Serenity. When inquired about the exact date of the release, Buterin replied cautiously that it was “really not so far away.”
