Neuberger Berman Launches Multi-Chain Tokenized Bond Fund

neuberger berman

Securitize Corp. and Neuberger Berman have launched a tokenized fixed-income investment vehicle that operates across four major blockchain networks, marking a new step in the adoption of blockchain infrastructure for traditional credit markets.

The Neuberger Securitize High Income Tokenized Fund, which trades under the ticker HINC, is available on Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche and Sui. The fund primarily invests in high-yield corporate bonds, while also gaining exposure to collateralized loan obligations and leveraged loans.

The launch marks Neuberger Berman’s first role as a subadvisor to a tokenized investment vehicle and combines its fixed-income expertise with Securitize’s blockchain-based fund infrastructure.

The fund is designed for accredited investors and qualified purchasers rather than the broader retail market. Eligible investors must complete identity verification and compliance checks, while geographic and securities regulations determine availability in individual jurisdictions.

Neuberger brings major fixed-income expertise

Neuberger Berman manages more than $230 billion in fixed-income assets, representing part of its approximately $613 billion in total assets under management. Through the partnership, the investment manager is participating in the tokenized fund market while retaining its focus on traditional credit assets.

Securitize is providing several components of the new fund’s infrastructure. These include tokenization technology, investment advisory services through Securitize Capital LLC, and distribution through Securitize Markets LLC.

The arrangement allows conventional fixed-income securities to be represented through onchain fund interests. While the ownership interests are issued as transferable digital tokens, the underlying portfolio continues to consist primarily of traditional income-producing credit instruments.

As a result, the fund’s investment performance is primarily linked to credit markets, interest income and the performance of its underlying securities rather than the price movements typically associated with cryptocurrencies.

Multi-chain approach broadens blockchain access

HINC’s availability across Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche and Sui allows the same investment vehicle to operate across several blockchain ecosystems. This structure can potentially reach investors, applications and financial infrastructure associated with different networks without limiting the fund to a single blockchain.

The multi-chain model gives tokenized fund investors and decentralized finance applications access to a traditional high-income strategy across multiple blockchain ecosystems, potentially improving interoperability and distribution.

The launch comes as demand for tokenized real-world assets continues to expand. Securitize manages approximately $4.96 billion in distributed tokenized asset value across 26 products, according to RWA.xyz data. Its tokenized offerings include BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, a tokenized AAA collateralized loan obligation fund, and an Apollo diversified credit fund.

Securitize’s institutional position also strengthened after Securitize Capital registered as an investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in July. The registration is expected to support deeper relationships with institutional asset managers developing compliant blockchain-based investment products.

The company reported first-quarter revenue of $19.5 million, representing an increase of about 40% from a year earlier. During that period, it reported approximately $3.4 billion in tokenized assets under management.

Market response and DeFi interest

Securitize shares rose 5.93% to $5.71 during Tuesday’s trading session following the announcement. The stock nevertheless remained more than 50% below levels reached shortly after its New York Stock Exchange debut on July 2.

The new fund has also attracted attention within decentralized finance. An Aave governance proposal has sought to add the Neuberger-Securitize tokenized fund to its Horizon platform, potentially creating another route for blockchain-based financial applications to interact with the product.

The development reflects a broader shift toward bringing conventional investment products onto blockchain networks. Tokenization can enable fund interests to be represented and transferred onchain while the underlying securities remain within established financial markets.

By combining Neuberger Berman’s established credit-market capabilities with Securitize’s tokenization and distribution infrastructure, HINC provides another institutional pathway for bringing traditional fixed-income strategies onto blockchain networks.

The partnership adds to the growing number of collaborations between established asset managers and blockchain infrastructure providers, indicating that tokenization is increasingly being explored as a distribution and operational tool for traditional financial products.
