Egoras Technology, a Nigerian energy company, has announced its plans to introduce Egostation, a groundbreaking electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure driven by blockchain technology.

Scheduled for its inaugural launch on June 8 in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, the company anticipates that Egostation will redefine the landscape of sustainable transportation across the region.

According to the company’s announcement, Egostation will leverage Egoras’ proprietary blockchain solution, Egochain, to ensure transparency and encourage station ownership, thereby promoting the widespread adoption of EVs throughout Nigeria.

The cutting-edge Level 3 DC fast charging system featured in Egostation enables rapid charging, capable of charging an electric vehicle up to 80 percent within just 20 minutes, catering to the evolving needs of modern EV owners.

Compared to traditional Level 2 AC chargers, Egostation’s Level 3 charging stations, equipped with DC fast chargers, offer significantly faster charging times. This efficiency is attributed to DC chargers bypassing the car’s onboard AC/DC converter, directly delivering current to the battery.

Ugoji Harry, the Chief Executive Officer at Egoras, expressed excitement about Egostation’s potential impact, highlighting how blockchain integration through Egochain revolutionizes the EV charging experience and incentivizes EV adoption nationwide.

Furthermore, Harry emphasized Egoras’ commitment to sustainability, stating that the company’s fleet of electric vehicles and charging station terminals will seamlessly integrate into Egochain, ensuring enhanced security, transparency, and operational efficiency.

Last week, Egoras announced its plans to introduce APEX 28, a made-in-Nigeria electric vehicle, in April. This initiative underscores the company’s dedication to transitioning Africans from fossil fuels to sustainable energy sources.

Regarding potential partnerships, Harry encouraged interested parties to seize the opportunity to establish charging stations nationwide, contributing to the expansion of Nigeria’s EV infrastructure. He elaborated on leveraging Egochain technology to incentivize station ownership and facilitate the growth of the Egostation network.

Through Egostations, station owners stand to earn rewards in the form of $EGAX block tokens as more vehicles utilize the charging network, fostering a mutually beneficial ecosystem that encourages network expansion and rewards contributors.

Harry emphasized the significance of integrating Egochain technology into Egostation, describing it as a pivotal shift in the EV charging landscape. By incentivizing station ownership and rewarding participation, Egoras aims to drive widespread EV adoption while advancing Nigeria’s EV infrastructure.

Last year, Egoras introduced the Egoras Dual-Fuel Tricycle, offering a cost-effective transportation solution for urban and rural areas while promoting environmental sustainability.

As Egoras continues to lead the way in sustainable transportation solutions, the company extends an invitation to potential partners to join efforts in establishing charging stations nationwide.
