OKX Launches Tokenized US Stocks and ETFs for Global Investors

OKX

Digital asset exchange OKX has broadened its investment offerings with the introduction of Unified Tokenized Stocks, a new product designed to provide eligible users with blockchain-based exposure to more than 40 leading U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Trading for the new instruments began on July 15 and 16, 2026, and is available to qualified users across Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Turkey. The service is currently unavailable to investors in the United States and the European Union due to regulatory restrictions.

The latest offering enables users to gain price exposure to major U.S. companies, including Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta. Investors can also trade tokenized versions of the S&P 500 ETF and the Invesco QQQ ETF. These products are paired with USDT, allowing customers to trade tokenized equities alongside cryptocurrencies within the same account.

OKX introduced Unified Tokenized Stocks to provide blockchain-based access to more than 40 U.S. stocks and ETFs through a unified trading environment that combines digital assets and tokenized securities.

Unified Order Book Aims to Improve Market Efficiency

According to the company, the platform differs from conventional tokenized stock offerings by using a unified order book for each listed tokenized stock. Rather than separating liquidity across multiple issuers, the system combines available liquidity into a single marketplace.

The exchange indicated that this structure is intended to improve price discovery, strengthen market depth, and enhance overall trading efficiency by reducing liquidity fragmentation.

During the initial rollout, the tokenized stock products are backed by xStocks issued by Backed Assets. The issuer stated that every token is supported by fully deposited underlying shares, providing asset backing for each tokenized instrument.

Despite this backing, token holders do not obtain legal ownership of the underlying shares. Instead, investors receive economic exposure to the price movements of the referenced securities without acquiring shareholder privileges such as voting rights or participation in corporate actions.

Around-the-Clock Trading and Automated Investment Tools

The platform offers 24/7 trading of tokenized stocks using USDT without requiring users to open a traditional brokerage account or convert funds into U.S. dollars, while also supporting automated investment tools such as Grid Bot and Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) Bot.

The exchange has integrated tokenized stocks into its broader digital asset ecosystem, enabling investors to manage cryptocurrency and tokenized equity positions within a single platform.

Dividend distributions are handled through a reinvestment process at the issuer level. The resulting value is reflected in users’ token balances after applicable taxes have been taken into account, allowing investors to benefit from dividend-related adjustments without receiving direct cash payments.

Tokenization Trend Continues to Gain Momentum

The launch reflects the accelerating global adoption of tokenized financial assets, as blockchain technology continues to expand access to traditional capital market products for investors across multiple regions.

The introduction of Unified Tokenized Stocks highlights the growing convergence between conventional finance and digital assets. By tokenizing publicly traded securities, exchanges are seeking to make equity markets more accessible, offering extended trading hours, simplified cross-asset investing, and lower barriers to entry for eligible participants.

As tokenization continues to gain traction worldwide, financial institutions and digital asset platforms are increasingly exploring blockchain-based solutions that bridge traditional investment products with the cryptocurrency ecosystem. OKX‘s latest initiative represents another step in that broader industry trend, providing investors in supported jurisdictions with a new way to participate in U.S. equity markets through tokenized instruments while remaining within a digital asset trading environment.
