Opengame Foundation (OGF) has officially launched “Adventure,” the first mainnet of its CROSS blockchain network, aimed at transforming the global gaming industry through a decentralized, developer-friendly infrastructure. Announced on April 23, the debut of Adventure marks the operational beginning of the CROSS ecosystem, a dedicated platform designed to provide standardized blockchain tools for game developers and players worldwide.
The CROSS network is structured to remove traditional barriers that game studios often face when integrating blockchain technology. By offering a protocol and an accessible software development kit (SDK), the platform enables developers to embed token issuance and blockchain-based features directly into their games without being hindered by legal or technical complexity.
Developer Tools and Player-Centric Features
The CROSS SDK allows developers to implement in-game token functionalities with ease, while players can use the CROSSx wallet to securely store digital assets such as characters, items, and tokens. These assets, once stored on-chain, become fully tradable in peer-to-peer markets, effectively granting players complete control and verifiable ownership over their virtual goods.
According to OGF, the network is built to be fully compatible with Ethereum standards and maintains a close integration with the BNB Chain. This dual compatibility is intended to optimize transaction efficiency, enabling faster block times and reduced fees while ensuring access to broader liquidity pools. By aligning itself with Ethereum’s evolving technological landscape, OGF seeks to keep its infrastructure both stable and future-ready.
Decentralized Game Economy Begins with Ragnarok: Monster World
The first title to be hosted on the CROSS network is “Ragnarok: Monster World,” which officially launched on April 24. Instead of relying on the widely used free-to-play model, the game adopts a modified subscription-based system. In-game activities, including asset management and transactions, are executed entirely through the CROSS protocol.
This decentralized approach enables a self-sustaining game economy, where value generated by users is returned to them directly through transparent, on-chain peer-to-peer transactions. The system has been designed to enhance user engagement and promote long-term sustainability for game developers by creating new monetization pathways that do not rely solely on advertising or centralized in-game purchases.
Strategic Partnerships and Future Roadmap
To support the development and expansion of the network, OGF has partnered with NEXUS, a company specializing in blockchain-based gaming platforms. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the onboarding of new game titles and contribute to the growth of the CROSS ecosystem.
OGF has also revealed a structured upgrade plan for the CROSS mainnet, which will follow an alphabetical versioning system. Following the launch of Adventure, the initial release, future network updates are expected to be labeled sequentially—B, C, D, and so on. Each phase will bring enhancements to the development tools, infrastructure, and compatibility layers, reinforcing OGF’s commitment to continuous innovation.
The foundation aims to broaden its appeal by equipping both emerging indie developers and established game studios with the resources needed to build next-generation blockchain games. Through CROSS, OGF envisions a globally connected and economically empowering ecosystem where developers and players alike can benefit from true digital ownership and decentralized interaction.
