Opera Integrates Metaverse Focused MultiversX Blockchain

MultiversX, previously known as Elrond, has been seamlessly integrated into Opera Desktop, catering to both mobile and web browser platforms. The objective of this milestone is to streamline the process of user enrollment, promote widespread adoption, and offer users a fresh approach to engage with MultiversX’s blockchain that is focused on metaverse.

This partnership will facilitate Opera users to explore the decentralized internet by means of a smooth integration of the MultiversX network into the browser’s interface. The integration combines the wide array of functionalities offered by MultiversX with the user-friendly and easily accessible nature of web browsing. Notably, MultiversX’s native tokens, EGLD or ESDT, will be available for Opera users to carry out transactions and interact with relevant non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Furthermore, it is possible for users to conveniently utilize decentralized applications (dApps) through their web browsers and create additional MultiversX addresses with the same recovery phrase, thereby broadening their alternatives for managing multiple wallets. The collaboration will cover the Opera browser’s desktop and Android versions, enabling users across various platforms to benefit from the MultiversX ecosystem. The Android setup comprises of customized wallpapers, speed dial options for swift access to crucial MultiversX websites, and Web3 functionalities.

The development of a clear and uncomplicated route to the Web3 realm through the browser, which is the fundamental Web2 gateway, offers indisputable advantages. This has the potential to serve as a powerful catalyst for wider adoption and exploration of the MultiversX blockchain ecosystem, while ensuring that current users enjoy a smooth and user-friendly experience. Beniamin Mincu, the CEO of MultiversX, expressed his excitement about being at the forefront of this revolution alongside Opera.

The progress made by MultiversX towards enhancing Web3 interoperability is noteworthy. In February, xPortal was launched as a Web3 “super app” with the aim of offering users a centralized platform to access decentralized applications and metaverses. This application is compatible with both Android and iOS operating systems and offers a range of features such as secure messaging with end-to-end encryption, as well as access to Web3 applications and metaverse encounters.

The mobile application integrates digital finance, AI avatars, and messaging functionality in a user-friendly interface to aid the integration of newcomers to the Web3 ecosystem. In addition, MultiversX has recently established a collaboration with Tencent, a distinguished Chinese technology enterprise renowned for its widely utilized messaging platform WeChat.

The Opera browser was the initial web browser to provide complete support for cryptocurrencies. In 2018, the Norwegian company launched an Android mobile application that featured the world’s initial internet browser with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet. The browser referred to as ‘Web 3-Ready’ by Opera encompasses its range of blockchain and cryptocurrency offerings, which presently features a crypto wallet that is compatible with Ethereum and dApps for both Android and iOS.
