Along with the founding members dYdX, Maker Foundation, NEST Community, Compound and Huobi DeFi Labs, the association intends to study “cross-border collaboration opportunities” and foster the advancement of the DeFi ecosystem.

The Global DeFi Alliance rolled out a month ago, with an objective of leading partnership between decentralized finance ventures from both the Eastern and Western regions.

Aave founder and CEO Stani Kulechov said “All of the members have greatly contributed to the DeFi ecosystem, and we are excited to be part of the Global DeFi Alliance.”

In Huobi’s September 15 announcement, chief investment officer Sharlyn Wu said:

“We appreciate all new members of the Global DeFi Alliance and look forward to cooperating with them in various fields from user education, practice sharing, protocol standardization, risk management to supporting the development of the global decentralized financial ecosystem.”

The association will conduct webinars and other events aimed to create cognizance about DeFi among firms and users in the Asia zone. Executives from Aave and Synthetix have revealed their plans to widen their operations in Asia before taking part in the alliance. Huobi stated that more DeFi players will be included in the alliance in the months ahead, along with members of the centralized finance industry.
