Shop.com Partners with BitPay to Start Accepting Bitcoin as Payment

Shop.com, an e-commerce company located in the United States, is the most recent to accept bitcoin payments. Market America, the holding company of Shop.com, has revealed collaboration with cryptocurrency payment processing service provider BitPay, which will enable it to take payments in a variety of cryptocurrencies, notably Bitcoin (BTC).

The joint initiative allows Shop.com customers to pay with their cryptocurrency wallets by selecting the BitPay tab while making the checkout process. Users may now pay in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ether (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Litecoin (LTC), and five USD-pegged stablecoins.

Shop.com president and COO Steve Ashley described the alliance as the “next episode in doing business,” adding that the BitPay connectivity is accessible in all countries where Market America functions, which include the United States, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Malaysia.

BitPay is utilized as a cryptocurrency payment platform by businesses who typically deal in fiat currency. Businesses such as the Las Vegas Auto Gallery and American luxury hotels are examples of this. The Kessler Collection has agreed to take Bitcoin payments via BitPay.

According to a recent report released by the cryptocurrency payments provider, both cryptocurrency holders and non-owners have a keen interest in cryptocurrency payments. Notably 93 percent of participating cryptocurrency users stated that they would look at the option of purchasing using cryptos, while 59% of customers who had never possessed cryptos are interested in utilizing it to make purchases.
