Telegram Unveils Fift, a Programming Language For TON Blockchain Network

Telegram, which is an instant messaging service focused on privacy, has developed a new programming language for use in Telegram Open Network (TON), as per a post made on the Telegram channel.

The post elaborates by stating that the new language, named Fift, is especially developed for creating and administering smart contracts on TON blockchain, in addition to communicating with the TON Virtual Machine (TVM).

On its part, TVM processes smart contract code in the TON blockchain, assisting all functions needed to handle incoming messages and other relevant data.

The article offers a summary of Fift, including the fundamentals of TON and TON-focused operations, among other matters.

The publication follows a recent statement indicating Telegram’s intention to launch TON in the third quarter of 2019.

The TON network will reportedly support decentralized applications, as in the case of Ethereum network.

The final release of TON has been very much expected among the crypto and blockchain groups, as Telegram, which has more than 200 million users, amassed $1.70 billion in two initial coin offerings in 2018.

Telegram supposedly introduced a private beta trial of the TON blockchain to a chosen number of international programmers in April. While the trial did not result in any particular outcomes, two anonymous testers disclosed that the TON blockchain indicated an “extremely high transaction speed.”

Again in April, Ton joined hands with German financial services provider Wirecard to build unique digital financial tools.
