The BSV Association has announced the public release of Teranode, a blockchain software platform engineered to process over one million transactions per second (TPS), marking a significant stride toward large-scale enterprise and institutional blockchain adoption.
Developed over three years, Teranode incorporates a microservices-based and horizontally scalable architecture designed to cater to data-heavy industries such as finance, healthcare, logistics, supply chain management, and government operations. Its architecture enables organizations to scale their blockchain operations dynamically by adding computational resources, rather than depending on single-node hardware upgrades.
High-Performance Blockchain Infrastructure
According to the association, Teranode’s live trials demonstrated the capability to handle more than one million global transactions per second during a two-week test across a globally distributed network. The platform was built to align transaction capacity with real-world growth in data demand, ensuring that processing power scales seamlessly with enterprise requirements.
The BSV Association emphasized that this release aligns with its broader mission to promote the BSV blockchain as a scalable, secure, and energy-efficient public infrastructure suitable for enterprise and government-level applications. The organization believes Teranode redefines blockchain scalability by shifting the focus from whether such systems can scale to exploring what can now be built with them.
Designed for Enterprise Modernization
BSV Association’s Managing Director, Ásgeir Óskarsson, noted that the launch represents a major advancement for organizations facing increasing pressure to modernize infrastructure and manage expanding data flows. He highlighted that Teranode delivers the scale, efficiency, and reliability required for mission-critical systems across finance, healthcare, and logistics. The platform is expected to help enterprises operate confidently in a digital-first economy by providing an infrastructure capable of sustaining large-scale, high-speed transactions.
Chief Technology Officer Siggi Óskarsson commented that Teranode’s development involved extensive collaboration with the developer community over the past six months. The association reportedly facilitated hands-on trials and peer reviews, allowing developers to explore the underlying code, suggest optimizations, and contribute to strengthening the platform before its official rollout. The initiative reflects the association’s goal to help developers and partners build real-world, enterprise-scale blockchain applications with long-term utility.
Enterprise adoption powers devs to:
►Test ideas at real world scale
►Turn Testnet validations into solutions that enterprises rely on
►Gain credibility, feedback and opportunities

Real-World Applications and Open Development
BSV Association indicated that Teranode is particularly suited for industries managing massive data volumes at minimal operational cost. Potential use cases include real-time financial transaction systems, logistics coordination across billions of IoT devices, healthcare data management, carbon-efficient supply chain tracking, and high-frequency microtransactions in entertainment platforms.
To facilitate broader adoption, the association has expanded its suite of developer tools, resources, and libraries, streamlining application deployment for enterprises and exchanges using the BSV blockchain infrastructure. The platform has already been implemented by select transaction processors during its trial phase and is expected to achieve wider integration in the coming months, supported by continued technical assistance and outreach initiatives.
Teranode’s open-source model ensures transparency and community-driven enhancement, enabling external developers to review, refine, and optimize its codebase. The architecture also removes artificial block size restrictions, enabling virtually unbounded throughput and reinforcing the BSV blockchain’s commitment to large-scale usability. Additionally, the system remains compatible with the original Bitcoin protocol, preserving continuity with established blockchain principles.
Advancing Blockchain for Data Integrity
Through this milestone release, the BSV Association aims to strengthen blockchain’s role as a global layer for data trust and integrity, advancing regulatory compliance and fostering adoption across both public and private sectors. Teranode’s capabilities are positioned to redefine blockchain’s role within enterprise digital infrastructure, setting a benchmark for performance, scalability, and real-world application.
