The entities inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Monday for a venture in which they would collaboratively explore, trial, and create newer digital technologies in database linking with the goal of even more digitizing Thailand’s healthcare system.
The NHSO, which oversees the nation’s national healthcare insurance framework, will offer data, guidelines, and rules linked to the advancement of the health platform, while NT, a government telecom company, will offer telecommunication and IT infrastructures including internet network services, 4G and 5G networks, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data centers.
In the meantime, Bitkub World Tech, a joint effort between crypto currency Bitkub and the Thongtang Group, will assist in the development of digital health IDs as well as the blockchain-based health network. According to reports, the use of blockchain technology will allow for the validation and security of patient data.
After completing the merging of various health databases, including the one comprising migrant workers from neighboring countries, the national health system is expected to be implemented by the end of 2022. He claims that doing so will need collaboration between the public and commercial sectors. Patients may use the platform to schedule meeting, verify their insurance coverage, and get reimbursement.
