TIME Square will be constructed on the media outlet’s virtual land in The Sandbox as a location for gathering, art, and commerce. The design of TIME Square will be influenced by the aesthetic spirit and energetic vibe of the famous urban neighborhood in New York City. TIME Square will be an inclusive place giving unique experiences to TIMEPieces holders.
The destination will serve the TIMEPieces community by giving virtual access to a variety of educational experiences, as well as conversations, events, and screenings of projects produced by TIME Studios.
During the event hosted by The Sandbox at NFT.NYCnyc, TIME President Keith A. Grossman announced the alliance. He also issued an open call for architects to reimagine TIME Square, reinventing it as a world-renowned cultural hub for the metaverse. TIMEPieces is reaching out to the active community of people all around the globe who are enthusiastic about the metaverse in order to find an architect who can reimagine the location as a voxel construct.
Grossman said “Our objective is to design a location that will serve as the metaverse’s nerve center when it is completed. Since the introduction of TIMEPieces in September 2021, our primary emphasis has been on cultivating a community in Web3 that is able to take use of the remarkable 100-year history and access that TIME has developed.”
