Twitter CEO – Bitcoin Provides Trusted Sytem in Distrusted Environment

The Oslo Freedom Forum, an organization named after the event it conducts, operating under the Human Rights Foundation (HRF), virtually organized by Square CEO Jack Dorsey for a short interaction on YouTube.

During the meeting, the CEO expressed optimism about Bitcoin (BTC), cryptocurrency sector’s numero uno asset in terms of market cap.

In an interview dated September 25, Dorsey said to host and HRF president Thor Halvorssen “The whole spirit of Bitcoin, for instance, is to provide a trusted system in a distrusted environment, which is the internet.”

Dorsey gave his opinion while discussing about security and methodologies to be adopted for safeguarding against vicious groups. Dorsey said “I fundamentally believe that security is not something that can ever be perfected. It’s a constant push to be 10 steps ahead of your attackers.”

In case of Twitter, a social media platform founded and managed by Dorsey, he pointed out multiple use scenarios for safeguarding against hackers, including preserving a feeling of inward self-consciousness about their own safety and several external intelligences.

He also spoke about the selection of right frameworks. Specifically, Dorsey said “Making sure that we’re building the right secure systems within our platform so that we can have trust in untrusted environment.”

In case of Bitcoin, Dorsey utilized the crypto and the underlying technology as an illustration of new technological advancement that paves way for better security, making trust a less important factor.

He also highlighted the notion and significance of individuals having an opportunity to possess their own access abilities and keys as observed in Bitcoin.

Further in the interview, Dorsey also opined that blockchain and decentralization is creating a huge change in online content domain, hosted by multiple parties rather than centralized institutions.

He detailed “Blockchain and Bitcoin point to a future, and point to a world, where content exists forever, where it’s permanent, where it doesn’t go away, where it exists forever on every single node that’s connected to it.”

In the past, Dorsey had often talked emphatically about Bitcoin, frequently explaining the asset’s capability.
