Visa Submits Application for NFT Trademarks

When a prominent personality, brand, or corporation registers a trademark for NFTs, the crypto sector enthusiasts are always ecstatic. This has occurred with Kanye West, the Mean Girls series, and others, often with reference to forthcoming initiatives. As per trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis, the newest member of this group is worldwide payment processor VISA, which submitted for two NFT trademark registrations on October 22, 2022.

These apps are for non-downloadable software that allows users to see, access, and trade NFTs, cryptocurrencies, etc. In these filings, the establishment of a digital world where users may engage for recreational reasons is also mentioned.

We have a general notion of what VISA may be intending based on the information made public via its filings. These seem to consist of NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and the Metaverse. If we’re fortunate, we’ll have a comprehensive blockchain interaction with VISA goods and services that include the most prominent blockchain-powered services.

Although these trademark filings are broad, they are not unexpected. Several corporations, including payment processor competitors such as Western Union, have entered the Web3 market. NFT enthusiasts will eventually profit the most, since they will have an abundance of alternatives.
