XRP, BAT & XLM Among Crypto Tokens Newly Supported By Coinbase Card

coinbaseCoinbase has announced that its Visa debit card will be supporting five more cryptocurrencies in 10 new jurisdictions. The information was revealed through two tweets.

Coinbase Card, which was rolled out in April 2019, currently supports nine cryptocurrencies. The card can be used in 29 countries in Europe.

The cryptos, which Coinbase Card has started supporting, include Stellar (XLM), XRP, Basic Attention Token (BAT), Augur (REP) and 0x (ZRX). Users will be able to spend the aforesaid cryptocurrencies through Coinbase Card.

Other five cryptos which are already supported by Coinbase Card include Ether (ETH), Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

Coinbase Card will also be made available in Bulgaria, Romania, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway, Croatia, Poland, Denmark, Hungary, and Sweden.

Coinbase, a key US-based cryptocurrency exchange and wallet service, unveiled its Visa debit card in the UK on April 10. The card permits Coinbase users to carryout purchases with cryptocurrencies from their Coinbase accounts. To finish a purchase, Coinbase exchanges client’s cryptocurrencies into fiat currency for a predetermined fee.

Cryptocurrency debit card offerings have seen considerably growth this year. In June 2019, the Litecoin Foundation unveiled its plans to introduce a physical crypto debit card in collaboration with Bibox Exchange and blockchain firm Terino. Again in June, Crypterium, a crypto payment company, headed by ex-Visa executive Steven Parket, vouched that it disbursed 4,000 crypto debit cards within a week from the card’s launch.
