Youmio, a newly launched Layer 1 blockchain tailored specifically for artificial intelligence agents, has entered into a strategic partnership with Avalanche to deploy its infrastructure. Designed as a foundational protocol for agent-native applications, Youmio focuses on enabling autonomous agents to operate seamlessly across digital platforms, games, and ecosystems. The collaboration reflects an effort to address fundamental challenges in trust, privacy, and interoperability as AI agents gain traction across decentralized systems.
According to Youmio’s co-founder and CEO, Michael O’Connor, the platform was developed to resolve pressing issues in the AI space by anchoring agent identity, memory, and authorship directly onchain. He also noted that the architecture is built to provide users with granular control over privacy settings, ensuring transparency while protecting sensitive data. Unlike conventional blockchain systems, Youmio is structured around agent behavior, assigning each agent a wallet, modular capabilities, and a dynamic metadata profile. To enhance trust and verifiability, outputs generated by agents can be cryptographically minted.
Built for Speed and Interoperability
Avalanche’s high-performance infrastructure was selected due to its capacity for low-latency, high-throughput transaction processing and rapid consensus finality—key factors for coordinating large-scale agent activity in real time. With more than six million funded wallets and three million monthly active users, Avalanche offers a robust environment for deploying and scaling agent-based systems.
Representatives from Ava Labs, the entity behind Avalanche, expressed their support for Youmio’s approach, highlighting that the platform was purpose-built for AI agents rather than adapting existing blockchain structures. They suggested that this design choice lays the groundwork for large-scale tokenization and interaction of autonomous agents within the Avalanche ecosystem.
3D AI Characters and Agent Token Models
The first application on Youmio’s blockchain is a launchpad for generating 3D AI entities called Mios. These multi-agentic characters evolve based on user interaction, develop unique personalities, and traverse multiple digital environments. To manage the value and incentives tied to these agents, Youmio has introduced an agent-token framework, where a single token can represent an interconnected group of agents. This system allows creators to define behavior-driven rewards, adding a programmable layer of value distribution based on usage or interaction.

To support this vision, O’Connor has joined the investment committee of InfraBUIDL(AI), a $15 million fund initiated by the Avalanche Foundation. The initiative is designed to support developers building agent-driven applications and exploring new paradigms for intelligent blockchain agents. As part of the collaboration, Youmio will provide both funding and infrastructure resources to help external creators develop and distribute agent-centric solutions.
Unlike general purpose L1s, Youmio's L1 is structured around agent behavior: each agent has a wallet, modular skills and an evolving metadata state. Outputs can be optionally minted as cryptographic proofs.

Redefining Trust and Provenance in AI Systems
Youmio’s broader mission centers on constructing a transparent and secure ecosystem for AI agents. By anchoring key aspects such as authorship and behavioral history onchain, the platform seeks to mitigate concerns around agent reliability, security risks, and data provenance. Its launchpad allows users to build AI agents that retain memory and context, evolve through experiences, and operate fluidly across interoperable platforms.
The partnership with Avalanche aligns with this vision by providing a scalable and composable blockchain foundation. Avalanche’s capability to rapidly deploy sovereign Layer 1 chains complements Youmio’s requirement for high-performance, customizable infrastructure.
As blockchain and AI technologies increasingly converge, the collaboration between Youmio and Avalanche illustrates the emerging potential of agent-native systems in shaping next-generation decentralized applications. With infrastructure in place and funding secured, Youmio is positioning itself as a key player in the evolving landscape of intelligent onchain ecosystems.
