Brave Browser Records Almost 200% Rise in Monthly Active Users

Brave, privacy-focused blockchain web browser, has recorded a sharp rise in monthly active users (MAU) in 2019. Specifically, the MAU increased from 5.50 million in 2018 to 10.40 million in 2019.

In the same period, Daily Active Users (DAU) of Brave has tripled in the last year to 3.30 million.

The company has further stated that the recent surge in MAU follows the launch of updated version of Brave i.e., Brave 1.0. As per the blog post, Brave widened its MAU base from 8.70 million in October to more than 10 million at the end of November.

In addition to a surge in active users, Brave also saw a 12 fold rise in verified publishers who are enrolled to get paid in Brave’s native crypto i.e. Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for sharing information.

As per data from BATGrowth, a website monitoring adoption of Brave browser, the aggregate number of Brave publishers has skyrocketed to 341,880 as of date. On the contrary, Brave had only 28,000 verified publishers at the start of 2019.

Several reports indicate that Brave is turning into a preferred choice of surfers. Brave has already surpassed its key competitors such as Chrome, Opera and Firefox in Japanese Google Play in September.

Brendan Eich, co-founder of Mozilla and creator of JavaScript unveiled the Brave project three years back. The browser facilitates users to reward BAT token to contributors of valuable data on social media platforms such as Twitter, social news forum Reddit and ad-free video platform Vimeo.
