China has officially recognized blockchain related jobs in order to expedite the process of blockchain adoption.
Specifically, China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS), the ministry responsible for national labor policies and regulations, have taken the positive stance towards blockchain related jobs.
As per a statement issued by MOHRSS, blockchain centered jobs such as engineers, programmers, and analysts are some of the 10 jobs officially recognized in recent times.
In addition, people involved in 3D printing and nucleic acid examination have also received recognition by Beijing.
Blockchain job, being a broader term, encompasses various kind of works such as development of underlying technology, architecture design, trial, operation and maintenance, and system application, the MOHRSS detailed.
The ministry has stated that the official recognition for these jobs are in accordance with the country’s rising need to foster employment amidst the coronavirus outbreak.
The decision to recognize blockchain jobs has come at a time when the country is suffering massive job losses after several months of lockdown over the Covid-19 pandemic.
China is taking measures to speed up its blockchain ventures to minimize the economic impact of Covid-19 outbreak, in accordance with the directive issued by the Chinese President Xi Jinping.
China’s central bank (PBoC-People’s Bank of China), in a meeting conducted two days earlier, has advocated speeding up of the adoption of blockchain technology.
A minimum of two large blockchain related ventures are undergoing trial by Chinese authorities as of date. The first one is digital yuan, which is China’s central digital bank digital currency.
It is being tested in four cities namely, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Xiongan and Suzhou. In the final week of April, China also rolled out the nation’s blockchain network named Blockchain-based Service Network.
