Coca-Cola Releases NFTs Based on Heatmaps of FIFA World Cup Matches

Coca-Cola will provide FIFA World Cup NFTs depending on heat maps of the matches played. GMUNK, a digital content creator who has formerly collaborated with Nike, DoorDash, and singer Grimes, will design and display the NFTs on Crypto.com’s NFT portal.

10,000 NFTs were created by monitoring the in-game actions of FIFA World Cup participants. These things will be accessible to fans who join to create an account on the Crypto.com NFT portal.

This is the most recent example of a major corporation leveraging on World Cup frenzy using web3. BetDEX, a blockchain-based sports betting market, launched on the Solana mainnet on November 17. The exchange eliminated betting costs for World Cup games.

In the meantime, trading giant Binance enlisted the services of football icon Cristiano Ronaldo for his NFT series. The non-fungible tokens provide its owners access to a variety of benefits, including surprise boxes, admission into sweepstakes, and a special greeting from Ronaldo.

Additionally, Budweiser launched an NFT series with real-time scoreboards for the competition. As per the organization, FIFA’s Algorand-based campaign will contain an NFT repository of historic World Cup and Women’s World Cup events, artwork, and photography. The initiative is comparable to NFT sports memorabilia, such as NBA Top Shot, which focuses on basketball.
