Los Angeles Mayor’s Office Announces Eligible Blockchain Pilot Projects Contest Carrying $25,000 Reward

The Budget & Innovation Office of Los Angeles Mayor and the Information Technology Agency of the City (ITALA) have collaborated with Goren Holm Ventures (GHV) to hold the Block Tank Blockchain competition.

The contest will be held in front of a committee of celebrity delegates at the investment-centered blockchain convention CIS, as per a Goren Holm Ventures media statement released.

Winners will receive a lowest possible investment proposal of $25,000 from GHV and a trial program with the city. Ted Ross, the City of Los Angeles’ CIO, said: “Utilizing cutting-edge technologies to improve the lives of Los Angelenos has always been a priority for ITALA. […] We’re excited for our partnership with GHV to explore and source blockchain solutions at CIS.”

The fields qualified for the pilot project are ecosystem conservation, web based polling and safe resident identification.

The committee made up of billionaire investor and Bitcoin (BTC) advocate Tim Draper, who earlier said that a $250,000 price forecast for Bitcoin was modest. will select four startups.

After confirmation of participation, more judges will be selected. In particular, IT service management multinational Gartner anticipates that blockchain will become truly revolutionary within 10 years for most sectors.
