Opera Crypto Wallet Upgraded To Allow Users Send Crypto-Collectibles

Opera ltd, the firm which built the popular Opera browser, has stated that it has upgraded its built- in cryptocurrency wallet to fully support ethereum- based Erc-721 crypto collectibles, including cryptokitties and MLB’s collectibles.

The norway – based tech company, via an announcement, stated the upgrade to the crypto wallet, which already supports ether, the native currency of ethereum network, and Erc-20 tokens, is set to promote better user experience by allowing users send crypto- collectibles without entering their relevant marketplaces.

Opera further explained that the new facility makes sending crypto collectibles as “easy as sending money via Venmo in the us or Vipps or Swish in Scandinavian countries.”

“We believe this is only the beginning of this trend and that, as technology and usability improves, more online games and other services will adopt such tokens. We also see the possibility for these unique tokens to unlock access to content or verify eligibility for certain digital services.”

Extension-based Ethereum wallets such as Metamask already provides users comparable features. Opera insists to be the first popular web browser to showcase an indigenous cryptocurrency wallet designed to offer the feature, which “makes using crypto- collectibles both easier and more fun.”
