Qtum Rallies On Upgrade To Bitcoin Core 0.18.0

Qtum, an open sourced public blockchain platform, saw its native currency QTUM gain 6.2% in the past 24 hours to trade at $2.70 after the blockchain firm announced mainnet ignition of version 0.18.0, which involves upgrade from Qtum core to Bitcoin core 0.18.0.

The core team also announced improvements in staking and also the completion of critical bug fixes.

Qtum leverages the security of UTXO while facilitating multiple virtual machines such as EVM and the path breaking x86 VM. Qtum is PoS (Proof-of-Stake) based and features a Decentralized Governance Protocol (DGP) permitting particular blockchain settings to be changed by the use of smart contracts.

For example, the block size of Qtum can be boosted without implementing a hard fork.

Qtum’s global nodes, which are exceeded by Ethereum and Bitcoin, have a presence on six continents. Being an enterprise friendly platform, Qtum offers a standardized, stable and secure development ecosystem for smart contracts, facilitating business-friendly smart contract coding, deployment and execution.

The decentralized application platform, congruent with prevailing blockchain network, is modularized so that an update to technology can be implemented at any time. The blockchain also offers tailor-made solutions for enterprise clients.

Qtum’s Decentralized Governance protocol (DGP) permits particular blockchain settings to be changed by using smart contracts. The blockchain’s Account Abstraction Layer segregates apps from the fundamental covenant, ensuring the functioning of the blockchain and giving the ability to include more smart contracts handling capability in the months ahead.

The x86 Virtual Machine of Qtum supports C, C++, Rust, Python and other commonly used programming languages, promoting mainstream adoption of smart contracts.

Qtum employs the biggest PoS p2p network. Furthermore, a range of crypto wallets for iOS, Windows, Android, Linux, Mac, hardware wallet, web and other clients are offered, meeting the needs of various Qtum users. Qtum also offers adequate resources for blockchain and app creation.

In the third-quarter, Qtum team will concentrate on Lightning Network, public testnet and mainnet integration. With regard to x86 VM, trusted library features and second public testnet x86 and EVM will be supported.
