The Starknet Foundation has revealed its Gaming Committee, armed with an impressive budget of $125.5 million, as part of efforts to rekindle interest in gaming on the Ethereum layer-2 blockchain. This strategic move follows declining activity on Starknet attributed to concerns over token unlock schedules. The committee, comprised of six distinguished members, aims to analyze, strategize, and propose initiatives to expand Starknet’s gaming community, utilizing around 50 million Starknet (STRK) tokens to incentivize developers and enhance user engagement.

StarkWare, prompted by worries of early investor token dumping, has modified its unlock schedule. This adjustment comes as part of a broader initiative to safeguard the blockchain’s native tokens from potential adverse effects. Henri Lieutaud, head of developer relations at Starknet, leads the committee alongside individuals such as Gabin Marignier, a co-founder of Focus Tree, and Chris Lexmond, the founder of Unstoppable Games.
