Tron Foundation Reveals Details About Its ‘Secret Project”

Keeping the promise of announcing a “secret project” on July 30th, Tron blockchain founder and head of Tron Foundation, Justin Sun, revealed Project Atlas, an assignment designed to empower the foundation of TRON and make the native currency more productive in relation to the new BitTorrent acquisition.

The Tron community and crypto investors in general has been fervently waiting for the announcement of the secret project, with the majority guessing correctly about the project as well.

Justin Sun began by saying

“Finally, I would like to say a few things about our project, our secret project, now we name it Atlas, after the BitTorrent aquisition.”

Sun explained that the Tron protocol will possibly be integrated with the file-sharing platform, under the project named Atlas. Sun further revealed that the Foundation is also studying the possibility of enhancing the speed of BitTorrent protocol using Tron protocol.

“Currently we are exploring the possibility of using the Tron protocol to improve the BitTorrent protocol, in order to make the BitTorrent protocol faster… I hope the integration of Tron and BitTorrent will allow both parties to work better as one in the future.”

Sun believes that the above plan can be implemented by rewarding members who share files on BitTorrent, apparently by offering TRX tokens for strengthening the network.

“At this point, there is no incentive for peers who have completed downloading to continue to seed. We intend to extend the rewards to peers who seed torrents, infusing more resources into the current ecosystem.”

Sun hopes that BitTorrent will be able to act as a catalyst for Tron to achieve its objective of becoming a decentralized network for digital content creators and aid the platform surpass Ethereum in daily transaction volume. That will make Tron the most powerful public blockchain in the world.

According to Sun, the Tron network will function as the online protocol for the Atlas project. Furthermore, BitTorrent will be the largest application running on the Tron network, making it as a gateway for about 100 million of its users to join the Tron ecosystem.

Tron Foundation also revealed that the integration will result in a sharp rise in the global transactions related to online content as the creators will be able to reach millions of users directly without any intermediaries on the decentralized network.

To lay off concerns of BitTorrent users, Sun assured that there will be no mining projects involved. BitTorrent users will also be able to enjoy a faster and improved service.

“Hundreds of millions of BT users across the globe will become part of the Tron ecosystem. BitTorrent will be the largest application on the Tron network, which will allow Tron to pass Ethereum on daily transactions and become the most influential public chain in the world. The integration of BitTorrent and Tron will offer new possibilities to global payment and settlement of the Tron online content. The creators of this content will reach hundreds of millions of global users through this decentralized network without intermediaries… For BitTorrent users, Project Atlas is only going to strengthen the current BitTorrent protocol and make it stronger and more competent.”

In other related news, Tron Foundation published the beta version of its virtual machine, which facilitates the creation of smart contracts and decentralized apps. Throughout the next month, the virtual machine will be put under test by the community. The final version is planned to be released on August 30, following the successful completion of the test.
