Verge To Introduce New Wallet, Study Smart Contract Platform

One of Verge’s software developers, Marvin Piekarek, has issued an update on the latest developments in the Verge (XVG) project. This includes the development of a new version of the Verge wallet and an update to the Verge Codebase to Bitcoin.

Additionally, the Verge team is also exploring the possibility of integrating a smart contract platform.

Marvin provided the following update:

1. New version of the Verge Wallet – the team is developing a new version of the Verge Wallet with features such as decentralization, better user experience, security and reliability. It will be an open source and community driven project.
2. Update to Verge Codebase to Bitcoin v.0.13. – This is planned mainly because of the updates implemented to security protocols. The team is also contemplating on for further improvements in the future. The team is confident that the new Bitcoin codebase will offer a robust foundation for the Verge project. The Verge team is also working on integrating RingCT (Ring Confidential Transactions) to increase privacy and data security.
3. Studying the potential of the RSK smart contract platform – This is done as a part of the Verge project, with the addition of a sidechain.

Other latest developments

The Verge (XVG) blockchain was hacked twice within a span of one month. However, the team has shown leadership qualities by learning from the mistakes and rising to the occasion. Verge also has an indirect partnership with Litecoin, which bought a stake in WEB bank through its TokenPay partner, which eventually is a partner of Verge.
