BitTorrent Sees Rapid Growth After Acquisition By Tron

bittorrentBitTorrent, the largest p2p file sharing protocol, continues to update about its employee inflows and exits ever since it was bought by Justin Sun, the founder of the blockchain startup Tron (TRX).

The disclosure of employee statistics has also led to speculation that the acquisition of the company by Tron Foundation could be a prime reason for the exit of employees.

According to the report published by BitTorrent, since the time of acquisition, 16 new executives have joined the company, while 5 employees have put down their papers. BitTorrent has also stated that the company is experiencing considerable growth ever since it was bought by Tron.

Furthermore, BitTorrent has revealed that some of the employees who left the company had gone to pursue “higher education” or in search of “new opportunities.” BitTorrent has stated that it is expecting more members to join the software firm and looking forward to realize the primary objective of the company.

Commenting on BitTorrent’s statement, Justin Sun, the CEO and Founder of Tron Foundation said

“Let’s work together to build a bright future. Go #TRON. #TRX”

Justin Sun’s letter to BitTorrent, following the latter’s acquisition, was released recently by Tron Foundation. The letter reveals that Justin Sun acquired the company because both parties shared the same vision.

BitTorrent’s main aim is to “Democratize the Internet”. Likewise, Tron’s main vision is to “Decentralize the web”. Sun clarified that BitTorrent’s network of 100 million active users and ‘commercial opportunity’ was not the main reasons for the acquisition, even though it certainly adds value to the firm.

Sun has also stated that Tron Foundation will first focus on strengthening the internet infrastructure before making it truly decentralized. Furthermore, Sun plans to build Tron such that it becomes the world’s largest blockchain protocol. During this period, the BitTorrent protocol is expected to make further inroads in the world of decentralized content distribution on a global scale.

To fast forward the process, Justin recently introduced Project Atlas, which is about the integration of Tron and BitTorrent to make the file transfer protocol faster and extend the lifespan of the swarms. Furthermore, the project also aims to enhance the public spirit of BitTorrent with the integration of Tron networks.
