Taiwan Uses Ethereum IPFS Tech to Foil Chinese Cyberattacks
The Ministry of Digital Affairs of Taiwan has embraced IPFS technology to protect its network against assaults from China and other enemies. InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), created by Juan Benet eight years back, is a decentralized peer-to-peer (p2p) network that enables users to back up and save data and webpages by storing them along a group of nodes, hence avoiding central sources of failure and restrictions. The announcement of the IPFS overhaul follows House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the island, the first time that a senior-level official since 1997. Digital Minister Audrey Tang said in a talk with the government’s Central News Agency (CNA) on Tuesday that the ministry started the new initiative on the very day China initiated military maneuvers near Taiwan, after Pelosi’s tour.
Tang remarked, “It hasn’t been effectively assaulted and has not been trapped for even a second. It employs a Web3 architecture connected to the worldwide blockchain ecosystem and the international Web2 backbone network.”
