BitTorrent to Start Alpha Stage Trial Of Blockchain-Based Streaming Platform
BitTorrent, one of the popular file sharing platform providers and a subsidiary of Tron, will conduct internal trial of its blockchain powered streaming platform in the third-quarter of 2019. The news was revealed by BitTorrent through an official blog post.
As per the announcement, the streaming platform, named BitTorrent Live (BLive), supports real-time video content and an instant messaging facility. Furthermore, the basic system offers a top user chart and a user relationship component.
BitTorrent aims to unveil BLive in alpha, beta and complete versions from 3Q19 to 1Q20. The alpha version of the platform will be internally put under trial by a small team of users as the programmers continue to incorporate new features.
The platform supports different modes of deposit and withdrawal methods, including BitTorrent (BTT) coin and Bitcoin (BTC) without any kind of transaction charges.
Furthermore, deposit and withdrawal services offered by third-parties such as PayPal, Google Wallet, Apple Pay, Android Pay, Alipay and WeChat are supported.
BLive users will also be rewarded BTT coins for partaking in technical maintenance, event planning and content creation. Furthermore, users can purchase gifts with BTT and award them to content creators who can exchange them for BTT.
At the end of March, BitTorrent stated that it would unveil a public beta for BLive sometime in the second-quarter of 2019. Notably, BLive was available even in 2012, but the fundamental software has gone through several changes.
BLive basically started as a content delivery covenant without any stress on social media services. The initial version of BLive was crossed out after a failed fundraising program in April 2017.
