Blockchain Subsidiary of Live Planet Ropes In Ex-CTO Of 20th Century Fox
Hanno Basse, the ex-chief technology officer (CTO) at 20th Century Fox Corp., has been roped in as the President of Decentralized Media Solutions (DMS) division of Live Planet.
As per the news release, Basse is anticipated to give his valuable inputs to VideoCoin Network, which is the blockchain powered video infrastructure platform of the DMS division, and also its virtual reality (VR) streaming and publishing facilities.
Basse is well known for his contribution to several technology innovations that are now considered as standard in present day media. This includes HD, 3D, 4K-UHD Blu-ray Disc format, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology for customers and on-demand facilities.
In recent times, there was news that a state owned Brazilian bank is funding a documentary using its own native stable currency BNDES token, loaded on Ethereum (ETH) blockchain. The documentary was created by domestic movie production firm Elo, which incidentally produced the 2016 Oscar nominated movie “The Boy and the World,” directed by Alê Abreu.
Back in April, PewDiePie, the most-subscribed YouTuber, revealed his intention to begin live streaming on DLive, a blockchain-based video platform. Using Lino, a decentralized blockchain protocol, DLive aims to give awards to content providers and viewers for their involvement in content production and adoption through Lino tokens, the in-house crypto of the Lino blockchain.
